Newt Gingrich to Deliver Final Keynote at 2016 Marcum MicroCap Conference
New York City, NY – Marcum LLP announced today that Newt Gingrich will deliver the keynote address on the final day of the 2016 Marcum MicroCap Conference. The former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and current best-selling author will speak on June 2 on The Global Perspective: Intelligence and Insight on World Events. The event will take place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City.
Mr. Gingrich served as House Speaker from 1995-1999. Under his leadership, Congress passed welfare reform, the first balanced budget in a generation, and the first tax cut in sixteen years. In addition, the Congress restored funding to strengthen defense and intelligence capabilities. Intellectually fearless and a perennial visionary and historian, Newt Gingrich is regarded as one of the foremost economic, social, environmental and political thinkers in America today.
Recognized internationally as an expert on world history, military issues, and international affairs, Mr. Gingrich served as a Member of the Defense Policy Board and the Terrorism Task Force for the Council on Foreign Relations. In 2005, he co-chaired the Task Force on U.N. Reform, a bi-partisan Congressional effort to reform the United Nations. From 2007 until 2012, Newt served as General Chairman of American Solutions for Winning the Future. He has also been a Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., and a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
Mr. Gingrich was first elected to Congress in 1978, where he served the Sixth District of Georgia for 20 years. Today, Mr. Gingrich is a contributor to CNN, where he continues to advocate bold policy ideas. As an author, Newt has published 28 books including both fiction and nonfiction New York Times best-sellers. Together with his wife, he also has hosted and produced historical and public policy documentaries.
In addition to Mr. Gingrich, Harvey Pitt, former chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission and presently CEO of Kalorama Partners, LLC, will deliver the opening day keynote address at the conference on June 1.
