Marcum Workplace Challenge Returns to Jones Beach in 2022 – Walk-Run Fundraiser Back in Person!
MARCH 31, 2022 (New York City, NY) – After a two-year disruption enforced by COVID, one of Long Island’s landmark fundraisers will be back, live and in-person, this year. The much-loved Marcum Workplace Challenge at Jones Beach, which has raised more than $1 million for charity, will take place Tuesday, August 2.
Employees from companies across Long Island, and their families and friends, participate annually in the 3.5-mile run-walk and corporate picnic. The event is produced by Marcum LLP, Long Island’s largest accounting firm, in collaboration with the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC).
Beneficiaries will again include the Children’s Medical Fund of New York, Long Island Cares – The Harry Chapin Food Bank, Long Island Children’s Museum, and the Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
“This event has always been a magnet for the compassion and community spirit of Long Islanders. There is truly no other event that brings together the business community in such a strong show of support for our region and for some of the organizations that help make Long Island such a great place to live and work. To say that everyone is looking forward to returning to Jones Beach for this year’s run-walk doesn’t begin to express how excited we all are to once again put on our running shoes and team shirts, pitch our tents, and get out there to have some fun while doing good for our community,” said Carolyn Mazzenga, Marcum’s Long Island office managing partner.
“Not only is this a 3.5 mile run-walk, it is also considered Long Island’s largest office picnic. It’s a great way for companies to socialize and network in a totally relaxed environment.
