Marcum LLP Presents $85,000 to Local Charities Following 2023 Marcum Workplace Challenge
NOVEMBER 29, 2023 (New York City, NY) – Marcum LLP has proudly presented a check of $85,000 to the beneficiaries of the 2023 Marcum Workplace Challenge. This contribution marks another successful year of the annual charity run-walk event held at Jones Beach, an initiative that rallies businesses, government agencies, and community members around several nonprofits and charities.
The 2023 Marcum Workplace Challenge, produced in collaboration with the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC), saw enthusiastic participation from employees across Long Island companies, along with their families and friends. The event, a 3.5-mile run-walk followed by a picnic, has become a hallmark of community spirit and solidarity in Long Island.
This year’s challenge, held on July 25th, attracted thousands of participants. The event successfully raised funds to support local charities and surpassed last year’s donation. Beneficiaries include the Long Island Children’s Museum, the Children’s Medical Fund of New York, Long Island Cares – The Harry Chapin Food Bank, and the Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Each organization plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life and welfare in Long Island and beyond.
Carolyn Mazzenga, Marcum’s Long Island office managing partner, expressed her gratitude and pride in the collective effort: “The Marcum Workplace Challenge is not just an event; it’s a reflection of our deep-rooted commitment to the community. This year’s outstanding turnout and the generosity displayed are testaments to the spirit of Long Island. We are thrilled to contribute to these organizations and support their invaluable work.”
The success of the 2023 Marcum Workplace Challenge adds to the event’s impressive legacy, raising more than $1.3 million for local charities since 2006. Marcum LLP reaffirms its dedication to making a positive impact in the community and championing causes that resonate with the heart and soul of Long Island.
