Marcum Foundation Presents $74,000 to South Florida Charities
New York City, NY — The Marcum Foundation awarded $74,000 to four South Florida charities yesterday at a luncheon at the Bankers Club in Miami. The foundation is the charitable giving arm of Marcum LLP, a top national accounting and advisory firm, in Florida. The Firm has Florida offices in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
Yesterday’s gift represented fundraising proceeds and planned giving contributions by Marcum partners and employees over the last 18 months. Beneficiaries included:
- Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami – $39,100
- Miami Children’s Hospital – $15,100
- Children’s Home Society of Florida – $9,200
- Feeding South Florida – $10,600
The Marcum Foundation supports charitable causes in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. The foundation holds events throughout the year to raise money for numerous organizations, with the Firm matching all contributions dollar for dollar. In addition, the partners and staff of Marcum’s three South Florida offices can voluntarily designate a percentage of their wages to benefit one or more participating charity each year. To date, the Marcum Foundation has awarded $671,000 to charitable organizations in the region.
