Carolyn Gusoff Named Official Starter for 10th Annual Marcum Workplace Challenge
NEW YORK, NY – Carolyn Gusoff, an award-winning broadcast journalist covering Long Island for CBS2-TV and WLNY TV55, will sound the starting horn at the 10th Annual Marcum Workplace Challenge at Jones Beach State Park on July 28. The event is Long Island’s largest corporate run-walk for charity as well as the region’s largest office picnic.
This will be Ms. Gusoff’s third time as Celebrity Starter for the fundraiser, which attracts nearly 11,000 Long Islanders each year. She also produced a Public Service Television Announcement (PSA) for the event, which will broadcast on both stations.

More than 200 Long Island companies, government agencies and non-profit organizations field teams for the Challenge, ranging from casual walkers to serious runners, cheered by their families and friends. Sponsored by Marcum LLP, one of the largest independent public accounting and advisory services firms in the U.S. and the top-ranked firm on Long Island, the event benefits four Long Island charities – the Children’s Medical Fund of New York, Long Island Cares -The Harry Chapin Food Bank, Long Island Children’s Museum, and the Nassau County SPCA.

Since its inception in 2005, the Marcum Workplace Challenge has raised nearly $500,000 for local charities. The event is produced by the Greater Long Island Running Club under the management of Event Director Mindy Davidson.
