2015 Marcum Governmental Symposium to Update South Florida Government Finance Professionals on New GASB Pronouncements
New York City, NY – Over 200 South Florida government finance officials will attend the 2015 Marcum Governmental Symposium on Thursday, October 29, at the Signature Grand in Davie. Presented by the Government Services Practice group of Marcum LLP, a top national accounting and advisory services firm, the annual symposium will include a full day of technical education and training to bring government finance professionals up-to-date on new accounting and reporting requirements.
Technical presentations will cover new Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements, the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for government accounting and reporting. The CPE-accredited seminar will be conducted by Paul Glick, a specialist in GASB standards. Special presentations on GASB 67 (A Year in Review) and GASB 68 (What to Expect for 2015), covering government pension plan reporting, will be presented by Michael D. Futterman, Practice Leader for Marcum’s Florida Government Services Practice, with Enrique Llerena, senior manager; Moises Ariza, manager; and James J. Rizzo, senior actuary and consultant.
