About Daniel

Dan Dowell is a partner in the firm’s Assurance Services division. With extensive experience advising and auditing closely held businesses, Daniel leads the firm’s Tampa office, overseeing operations in the market and ensuring client and associate satisfaction.

He has worked with high growth companies over the years, including PE portfolio companies. He has deep experience advising clients engaged in mergers & acquisitions and has conducted due diligence around potential deals on buy- and sell-side engagements.

Additionally, Daniel has experience working with special-purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) as well as publicly traded companies.

A long-time resident to the Tampa Bay market, Daniel has served on several boards in the area in such capacities as chairperson and treasurer. Currently, Daniel serves as the Advisory Council Chairman for the University of South Florida Muma College of Business School of Accounting.

He is an alumnus of Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Daniel is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He began his career in business consulting with a national accounting firm and has extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions. He later founded a Tampa-based firm, Dowell & Perez, which was acquired by Skoda Minotti in 2013.

Throughout his career, Daniel has placed great value in training and mentoring. He continues to serve as a formal and informal mentor to several individuals.
