Chris Oswalt is an Assurance director in serving in Marcum’s San Francisco office. He has more than 10 years of combined public accounting experience serving public and privately held companies in a variety of industries. Chris started his career with a Big Four accounting firm, where he ascended to a role as a Senior Manager in Assurance. His most extensive assurance services experience has been focused on middle-market companies in the technology (including medical device, software and SaaS), manufacturing and gaming sectors. Prior to joining Marcum, Chris worked on-staff with a world-leading sports apparel company for 5 years, driving efforts to improve or build out new global accounting capabilities as prioritized by the Global Controller.

Chris is an uniquely accomplished problem-solver, spending most of his career assisting stakeholders develop through challenging life cycle stages. Chris has extensive experience in first year audits, pre-IPO audits, public company filings, transition audits for changes in ownership through mergers & acquisitions, as well as designing and implementing risk-responsive accounting capabilities to address specific opportunities for improvement.
