About Jayson

Jayson Morgan is a Tax & Business Services partner in Costa Mesa, California and serves as partner-in-charge of the Firm’s national Service Offering Specialty Group. He is also the leader of the Firm’s National Business Enterprise Tax Services Group (for private entities). Jayson has extensive experience serving business and individual clients with respect to strategic business planning, transactional assistance, entrepreneurial issues, tax planning, and tax compliance. He is passionate about private businesses and their owners. He has spoken frequently to both internal groups (national and local presentations) and external organizations (Real Estate Conference, Banking Symposium, and Insurance Groups) on business, tax, and planning for private businesses.

Jayson also advises on tax work in the alternative investments space, helping clients manage the intricacies of their financial portfolios. His extensive experience in this area allows him to deliver effective tax strategies and compliance solutions tailored to the unique needs of private equity funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, and their portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Marcum, he was a founding partner of the California firm WilsonMorgan LLP, and served as the firm’s managing partner. WilsonMorgan LLP merged with Marcum in July 2013. Jayson also has experience from a “Big Four” accounting firm.

He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in California, and holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is also a life insurance agent licensed in California.
