New Restaurant Revitalization Program Application Process
By Diane Giordano, Partner, Tax & Business Services
In our recent article about the Restaurant Revitalization Program, we suggested that those eligible entities seeking to take advantage of this upcoming program should consider several steps before the site opens. The U.S. Small Business Administration confirmed on March 30, 2021, that applicants for the Restaurant Revitalization Grant Program will not need to register for a DUNS number or a SAM.gov number as previously recommended.
This is a change from initial guidance, as well as prior SBA preliminary guidance. It was originally expected that applications would require these processes as they currently do under the Shuttered Venues Operators grant program.
Instead of requiring these registrations for the Restaurant Revitalization Grant Program, the SBA is creating a user-friendly application process, as significant demand for the program is expected.
If you have already taken steps to apply for a DUNS or SAM.gov number, don’t fear; you will not need to need to undo the process and your entity might need these numbers for other programs.
Marcum will continue to update you on the SBA application process as it develops.
