Dawne Ware is a director in Marcum's Hartford office and a member of the Firm's Advisory Division and Insurance Industry group. She is a CPA licensed in Connecticut and a member of the American Arbitration Association Commercial Arbitration panel.

Ms. Ware is a finance and operations executive with more than 20 years of experience forming, building, and leading companies in the property casualty insurance and reinsurance industry. Prior to joining Marcum in 2018, Ms. Ware co-founded SPARTA Insurance, an insurance company focused on the unbundled program market, which included a variety of captive program structures. As CFO, she oversaw all financial aspects of the company, including financial reporting, financial operations, insurance and reinsurance processing, tax accounting, treasury management, investment manager oversight, budgeting, credit risk management, reinsurance purchasing, rating agency management, government relations, investor relations, and corporate governance.

After selling the company to a leading property casualty runoff firm, Ms. Ware was named president of the runoff firm's U.S. operations, where she integrated the majority of its U.S. companies into a single operating platform, added new acquisitions, maintained strong relationships with regulators, and rightsized the combined organization.

Prior to founding SPARTA, Ms. Ware held various finance and operational roles at a venture capital-funded company serving the Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) market. That company grew from $75 million in premium when she first joined to almost $1 billion in premium in an eight-year period. Ms. Ware built out the finance and accounting department teams to support the company's growth, ultimately becoming CFO. During her 12 years at the company, Ms. Ware worked with business and IT personnel to automate manual processes, upgrade original IT systems, improve workflow, enhance management reporting, and implement SOX compliance procedures.

Ms. Ware started her career at a "Big 4" accounting firm and was also assistant treasurer for a national family of mutual funds.
