Two Marcum LLP Tax Professionals Named Most Influential Women in Accounting
New York City, NY – Two leaders from Marcum LLP’s Los Angeles Tax & Business Services team were named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s inaugural class of the Most Influential Women in Accounting. Lori Rock, a tax partner, and Nikka Yochim, a tax director, were among just 25 accounting leaders selected for this honor.
Ms. Rock provides tax compliance and business consulting services to publicly traded and privately held companies in various industries, including retail, distribution, manufacturing, technology and professional services. She joined Marcum in 2010 and is a member of the Firm’s State & Local Tax (SALT) and Corporate Tax Services groups, as well as the Retail & Consumer Products Industry team. She speaks frequently on international tax topics and is a presenter at Marcum’s annual year-end tax seminars for clients and referral sources. An active participant in Marcum’s Women’s Initiative and a mentor to younger Firm associates aspiring to partnership, Ms. Rock exemplifies the ability of professional women to balance successful careers with a fulfilling family life. She holds a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics, with a minor in accounting, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Ms. Yochim provides taxation compliance and consulting services to closely held businesses and their executives, along with representation before taxing authorities. Her client base includes high net worth individuals, manufacturers, distributors, importers, and retailers in diverse industries, including apparel, electronics, furnishings, real estate, and film production. She also works with local not-for-profit organizations. She leads the Marcum Women’s Initiative for the Southern California region, which focuses on fostering a culture that is diverse and inclusive. She is passionate about mentoring younger staff members in the Los Angeles office and continuously encourages them to stand out and take on leadership roles. Ms. Yochim was recently nominated for the Century City Chamber’s Women of Achievement Awards and is active in several women’s professional networking groups. She received her Master of Science in Taxation and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an accounting emphasis from California State University, Northridge. She joined Marcum in 1999.
