Morris Hollander, Assurance Partner, Receives Cal Kovens Distinguished Community Service Award

Miami, FL — Morris I. Hollander, a partner in Marcum LLP, Accountants and Advisors, was awarded the Cal Kovens Distinguished Community Service Award during the Florida International University Fall Commencement exercises at the U.S. Century Bank Arena at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Hollander was presented the award by FIU President Dr. Mark B. Rosenberg.

The Cal Kovens Distinguished Community Service Award is given to prominent individuals who have made notable contributions to the community. The award is named in memory of Cal Kovens, who was a prominent South Florida businessman and philanthropist and member of the FIU Foundation Board of Trustees.

At FIU, Hollander is a member and immediate past-chair of the President’s Council and a member of the School of Accounting Advisory Council. In April 2010, Mr. Hollander was recognized as the Honorary Alumnus of the Year by the School of Accounting. In addition, he served on the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. Outside of the university, Hollander is a member and past-chair of the board of directors of Family Counseling Services of Greater Miami, and a member of the 1040K Committee of the Florida Institute of CPAs.
