Marcum LLP Announces New California Tax Leaders

New York City, NY – Marcum LLP, a top national accounting and advisory services firm, announced new Tax leaders in its California region. The Firm has offices in Los Angeles, Irvine and San Francisco.

Effective immediately, John Eckweiler, CPA, a partner in the Irvine office, was named Partner-in-Charge of Tax & Business Services for the California region.

Rob Babek, CPA/MBT, was named Partner-in-Charge of Tax & Business Services for the Los Angeles office.

Mr. Eckweiler, a former Internal Revenue Service agent, has over 25 years of CPA and Business Advisory experience. His experience includes tax planning and consulting for closely-held companies and high-net-worth individuals, mergers and acquisitions, research, and compliance services. He has successfully represented clients before federal, state and local taxing authorities. In addition, he has extensive experience with corporate, individual, nonprofit and partnership tax entities. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA).

Mr. Babek is an active member of the national Marcum Family Office, High-Net-Worth Individuals and Trusts & Estates Practice groups and provides tax consulting, compliance, assurance and accounting services for individuals, corporations and not-for-profits. He is an expert in the area of S corporation taxation, and his industry concentrations include manufacturing, distribution, retail, apparel and real estate. Mr. Babek is a member of the AICPA and CalCPA.
