LinkedIn is a network for all professionals, not just CPAs, but one of the site’s features allows users to create groups for individuals who share similar interests.
This feature is what lured NYSSCPA member Kathleen L. Suker to the site. She’s only recently become more involved in online networking but said that she found on LinkedIn a number of groups and business associations related to her specialties in forensic accounting and business valuation.
“Social networking has raised my awareness of what is going on in the accounting industry and in my specialization,” she said. “It keeps me in touch with contacts I have made in person and has hopefully raised my profile.”
