2016 Marcum Innovator of the Year Awards Announced — 13 Companies Honored in Five Industry Categories; CSL Behring Wins Innovator Breakthrough Award

New York City, NY – Thirteen Philadelphia-area companies in five industry categories were honored with 2016 Marcum Innovator of the Year Awards last night. In addition, CSL Behring won the 2016 Innovator Breakthrough Award for overall achievement. The annual awards program is presented by the Philadelphia office of accounting firm Marcum LLP, to recognize companies that blaze a trail in their fields by constantly seeking new ways to advance their industries. The program is co-presented with Philadelphia SmartCEO Magazine.

This year’s winners include the following companies:

• Pentec Health, Inc. (Marcus Hook, PA) – large

• Odin Properties (Philadelphia, PA) – small
• Madison Concrete Construction (Malvern, PA) – medium
• Korman Communities (Philadelphia, PA) – large

• ColdLight Solutions LLC (Wayne, PA) – small
• Anexinet (Blue Bell, PA) – medium/large

In addition to the category awards, the 2016 Marcum Innovator Breakthrough Award went to CSL Behring (King of Prussia, PA), a plasma protein biotherapeutics company that researches, develops, manufactures and markets biotherapies used to treat serious and rare conditions.  CSL Behring was honored for achieving the greatest annual revenue among the 37 finalist companies.

Collectively, the 37 Marcum Innovator of the Year winners and finalists employ 28,638 individuals and generate $8.4 billion in annual revenue. Nominees were required to demonstrate how their innovations solved a problem, how they helped differentiate their companies in their markets, the impact their innovations have had on the Philadelphia economy, and the success or benefit they have produced in the marketplace.  All finalists are profiled in the September/October issue of Philadelphia SmartCEO.
